Professional Experience:
Scott joined Gilbert Group in 2025, bringing over 24 years of Commercial Real Estate Experience, holding both Senior and Director-Level Positions in Asset Management and Property Management areas of practice. This includes notable roles in both regionally and nationally recognized organizations including Associated Estates Realty Corporation, CASTO, Lifestyle Communities, SVN® International and most recently Newmark.
He brings forward a foundation of refined standards in management, incorporating concepts derived from academics, industry oriented educational programs and from practiced experience. This has led to collectively supporting the attainment of notable “high reach” goals and deliverables, ultimately benefitting his assigned property ownership groups in best efforts to build and enhance the value of their real estate holdings.
Scott believes in the ongoing and continual refinement and enhancement of his skill set which he derives from both national and local commercial real estate trade associations. He feels that this benefits the property owners he serves as he occasionally offers viewpoints on industry topics for their consideration. Primarily oriented to emerging industry trends and practices, these have included environmental issues, energy usage, benchmarking income and expenses, cost containment strategies and the financing and management of capital improvement projects.
Scott’s methodology is to “team up” or to “effectively partner” with his assigned property ownership groups in the management of their real estate holdings. First, he gains an understanding of their overall investment goals, then researches and visualizes the specific actions and the time required to effectively deliver results. Placed into action with an awareness of ongoing market conditions, physical asset maintenance, operational needs, property valuation and expected return at disposition, he seeks to build value through these meaningful business partnerships, occasionally leading to referrals or repeat assignments.
Outside of work Scott volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and for the Greater Columbus Furniture Bank. He also serves on the “Networking & Community Outreach” Committee for BOMA® Columbus. Scott enjoys spending time with family, traveling, hiking, and exploring both nature and the built environment.
